Manchester United are likely to be offered a loan deal for Jadon Sancho from the right-winger’s former club, Borussia Dortmund, with forward Donyell Malen, reported German newspaper Bild on Friday.

Dortmund want to bring Sancho back to the club where he thrived and made his name and in exchange are exploring the possibility of sending Malen to Manchester.

The clubs are likely to sit to talk about the transfer of the Dutchman to Old Trafford. Dortmund will either demand €30m for Malen or Sancho in return, with the German club leaning more towards the latter option.

Sancho enjoyed great success at Dortmund where the forward played 137 matches, netting 50 goals and providing 64 assists which helped him move to the Manchester club for a record €100m fee.

The 23-year-old played 82 games for the 20-time Premier League champions where he managed to bag 12 goals and six assists but he fell out of favour with head coach Erik Ten Hag and has been sidelined since then.

It all started on September 3 when the English footballer was left out of United's squad which faced a 3-1 defeat to Arsenal.

When asked the reason for Sancho's exclusion from the squad, Ten Hag explained that the decision was taken following the 23-year-old's poor performances during training sessions.

“Jadon, on his performances in training, we did not select him,” the Dutchman said. “You have to reach a level every day at Manchester United and we can make choices in the front line. So for this game he was not selected."

However, the Dutchman's comments were not ignored or taken lightly by Sancho who decided to speak up in order to defend himself.

"I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue," Sancho posted. "I have conducted myself in training very well this week.

"I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won't get into, I've been a scapegoat for a long time which isn't fair!

"All I want to do is to play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team."

Not only Sancho has not been allowed to train with the first team, he was also banned from all first-team facilities at Manchester United, including the dinner room, as per an earlier report from Daily Mail.
